Our Story
Aquapet ventures is a Nigerian registered entity established in 2007 and is a subsidiary of Aquapet solutions limited The company was established by Dr. Ganiyu I. Oludayo and the original plan was to produce high quality catfish seed (fingerlings) to supply the Nigerian fish farming industry. Utilizing a process of parents’ stock selection, egg collection, incubation and fry grading farmers yield increase from the common 40% to 95% on regular basis. The response from catfish fish farmers was overwhelming and Aquapet began a steady process of expansion, driven by high demand for high quality fingerlings which continues to this day.
The recent introduction of heteroclarias fingerlings to the Nigerian catfish farming industry was again a success for Aquapet ventures. The hybrid catfish not only shorten the culture periods but also reduce the feed conversation ratio drastically with harvest of large, even sized individuals.
Another milestone in Aquapet ventures development is the production of different species of ornamental fish among which are Gold fish, Angel fish, Japanese koi carp, Gourami and the recently introduced Pangasius hypophthalmus.
